Riddhi Sarker is an artist, animator, fabricator, and filmmaker based in New York.
Riddhi grew up surrounded by people in Hyderabad, India.
She then attended Rhode Island School of Design to study Film and Animation.
Her work centers materiality and the transformative ability of time-based media, as she uncovers more of what our physical world could say when given life through animation. She explores themes of belonging, memory, and displacement in her films, using traditional hand-drawn 2D, stop-motion animation, and live-action cinematography.
With every project, she challenges herself to expand the possibilities of a medium and reimagine a film's universe. Riddhi’s work always builds from the real world and approaches abstraction to convey its inner feeling.
