This final project was made for my first film class at RISD.
The film was shot on 16mm Tri-X reversal and 250D color negative rolls, using hand painting techniques and manual editing on the Steenbeck.
Unfortunately there was a break-in into my storage unit over the summer, and one box was stolen- including all my rolls of film from the class.
What remains now are two unpolished documentations of it, the first of the projected film recorded on a digital camera, and the second from the Steenbeck recorded on my phone. It upsets me that I won't ever have the version of this film that holds all of its detail, but I'm grateful to have something left of it to share rather than nothing at all.
'Become' centers light and the curious yearning for it, whether in nature or in artifice.
Thank you to my wonderful actor York Mgbejume. Music by Beach House.
